The Wickless are former Candles who have had their candlewicks fully burn to their wick's end, this causes their flames to ignite their candle blood in the wick's absence, which further causes them to burn and mutate from the inside out.
The form that a Wickless takes is varied and inconsistent, as their bodies melt and fuse in different ways, leading to altered appearances.
The most common result of this transformation is leaky candlelight blood glowing from inside their melted faces, as well as the outer layer of wax melting and hardening to fuse with their inner wax skeletons. This process often produces sharp claw-like features in the arms.
The Wickless have altered behavioral properties due to their candlewick's absence leaving them without sanity. The Wickless can sometimes exhibit traits of their old selves, but their overall behavior is inconsistent. Some act out in aggression, while others can be seen in a state of melancholy.
The Wickless are to be avoided when possible, as it is possible for Candles to be infected by the blighted candle blood of the Wickless through bites or scratches. Candles who are infected exhibit wickless-like symptoms with varying severity and effects on their minds.
The Wickless are at the very least common to most of the locales in The Manor.
Despite extensive research, the Candles have not found a way to reverse the effects of becoming a Wickless.
